The story of Basmastour: between faith, hijra, and textile entrepreneurship

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
Before being a brand of Muslim clothing, Basmastour is above all a story.
A story of faith, choices, sacrifices… and building.
Basmastour is first and foremost a woman.
A believer, deeply attached to the clothing prescribed for Muslim women, aware of its value, its weight… and its beauty.
2020: the breaking point
Everything begins in 2020.
A decisive year.
I chose to leave my studies and my former profession.
Not for ease, but to preserve my veil, my faith, and my relationship with Allah.
It is a period marked by many emotions:
calmness, questioning, uncertainties… but above all, total trust in Allah.
I had nothing materially.
But I had a certainty:
what is left for Allah is never lost.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever leaves something for Allah, Allah will replace it with something better.”
It is in this context that Basmastour comes to life.
A brand with a clear intention
Basmastour was not born from a simple commercial project.
It is based on two foundations:
- To meet my needs in a lawful manner
- To participate in the spread of clothing in accordance with the teachings of Islam
And in reality, the second intention has always been the first.
I wanted other women to feel what I had felt:
dignity, modesty, serenity… through clothing.
This is how the adventure begins in December 2020.
2022: hijra and production in Egypt
One year later, in January 2022, I make my hijra.
Heading to Egypt.
A major turning point.
This is where everything takes on another dimension:
I move from selling… to textile creation.
I start to design my own models:
abayas, jilbabs, khimars… designed to meet the real needs of Muslim women.
Each piece is:
- designed by me
- tested
- then produced in our workshops in Egypt
With a clear vision: to offer modest, sustainable, suitable, and accessible clothing.
Expansion, tests… and realities on the ground
Entrepreneurship is not a straight line.
I also tried to settle in Morocco.
An ambitious project… that turned into a professional failure, but also a human one.
A difficult experience, but necessary.
Because it taught me what no success can teach.
Despite this, I launched Basmastour.ma, with great ambitions for my home country.
A project that is moving forward today slowly, but surely.
Medina: a new step
Then a new chapter was written.
I moved to Medina.
A lifestyle choice… but also a new business vision.
Today, I am developing Basmastour.sa in Saudi Arabia,
with a local, simple, and coherent approach:
• a full black selection, tailored to the demand here
• direct distribution, closer to the customers
• a smoother experience for the sisters in KSA
Sawmah & the transmission
In parallel, there is Sawmah, my husband's brand.
A men's brand, present since my beginnings in Egypt.
A solid structure, which has evolved with us, step by step.
Over time, an obvious truth emerged:
> our journey had value
> our mistakes too
> our contacts even more
This is how our online training was born.
A training based on reality
Today, through our textile training available on Musafirayn,
we share everything:
- our real journey (without filter)
- our suppliers
- our workshops
- our production methods
- our launch strategies
In several countries:
Egypt, Morocco, China, Emirates, Saudi Arabia…
With a single intention:
to enable others to launch their ready-to-wear brand in a concrete and structured way.
Basmastour today
Basmastour is not just a clothing brand.
It is:
- a vision
- a path built between several countries
- a constant evolution
- and a willingness to stay aligned, despite the challenges
And above all…
A proof that when we place our trust in Allah,
Paths open up, even where we least expect them.
Welcome to my world… where each piece tells a story, and can become yours. 🤍
